Free State Horror Stories is a video series that explores famous ghost stories in Kansas. The miniseries premieres October 7, 2020 on YouTube. Lawrence video production company Matty D. Media launched the project to set two new traditions. For one, this video series becomes an annual tradition during Halloween. It will also be the first Matty D. Miniseries.

Free State Horror Stories explores the history and results of paranormal investigations inside the Stubbs Mansion. Governor Walter Roscoe Stubbs served as Kansas governor from 1909-1913. The ghost story is a local legend.

Ghost Stories at The Eldridge Hotel
The Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence Kansas originated as the Free State Hotel. Its history ties to the “Bleeding Kansas Era” of the 1850s and 1860s. The spirit of the anti-slavery movement resides in Kansas. For a moment, that battle centered at this property. The 5th floor of The Eldridge Hotel is reportedly haunted.
